THE OPPORTUNITY

Cerêve Inc. has developed a novel FDA-cleared device for treating insomnia and is preparing for launch in the second half of 2017. The Vice President of Sales will initially be charged with launching Cerêve’s prescription insomnia device into the sleep medicine community and achieving sales goals and key metrics. Initially the position demands hands-on work with a small team. Over time the VP will build and lead a world class sales organization that will include professional selling and eventually selling through distributors and retail partners. Overall this position will significantly contribute toward Cerêve fulfilling its mission as the worldwide leader in the drug-free treatment insomnia.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Based in Pittsburgh, PA and reporting to the CEO, the Vice President of Sales will be responsible for developing the sales plan and leading its execution. You will work closely with the CEO, VP Marketing and Chief Medical Officer. You will interact with customers (physicians, sleep labs and key accounts), board members, industry executives, distributors and retailers.

Cerêve seeks a seasoned sales executive with a track record of success in launching Rx products to physicians and physician offices. You will develop and manage a sales plan, while understanding how to be opportunistic. Experience in working closely with a marketing organization to gain professional prescriptions and recommendations is required.

The Vice President of Sales will lead through conviction of purpose and consistently demonstrate strength in character. You will be comfortable being decisive despite incomplete information. You will can think clearly and critically, articulate a vision, and inspire others to follow.

The selected candidate will:

-Roll up sleeves and execute tactics with an initially small team

Specific responsibilities include:

-Developing and executing sales plan, course correcting, and revising plans as needed

-Build a world class sales team, including company employed field reps, inside sales reps and customer service, by attracting and developing top talent, creating the appropriate organizational structure, and establishing the department’s methodologies, processes, and procedures

-Represent sales in interactions with senior management and Board of Directors

Requirements:

-Strong sales pedigree with track record of rapid sales growth (ideally from zero to $100 million+)

-10+ years successfully launching and growing novel medical devices or products driven by company-employed representatives doing missionary selling

-10+ years’ experience building and managing a sales team

-Start-up / early stage experience, or at minimum can clearly demonstrate ability to work in an entrepreneurial, hands on and adaptive environment

Plusses (prioritized)

-Experience in sleep space

-Experience in products sold through physician offices, such as aesthetic (e.g. Coolsculpting), eye procedures (e.g. LASIK), dental procedures (e.g. InvisAlign), hearing devices, or skin care products

-Experience with retail distribution including drug, mass, club and online

-Experience with distributors, including international and key accounts (such as government and employee wellness)

COMPENSATION

A comprehensive compensation package will include a competitive base salary, performance-based bonus, and stock options.
